Facial Gender affirmation surgery is a set of procedures intended to feminize or masculinize the faces of transgender individuals. Usually, it is to feminize the face when the transgender person decides to transition to trans-woman.

In India, transgender is recognized as the third gender. As of the 2011 census, there is almost 5 lakh transgender living in India. Transgender medicine is slowly being recognized as a required and important part of medicine and society.

Earlier when the transgender person decided to transition to trans-woman, genital reassignment/sex reassignment was the most sought and advised procedure.
